Occupancy Survey
“If you were to spend a night in every hotel, B&B or guesthouse in Yorkshire, it would be over eight years before you returned home.”
Our occupancy survey is part of a national scheme that estimates occupation levels in tourist accommodation.
The survey provides valuable information about trends and helps businesses to compare their performance against other similar accommodation providers. Comparisons by grade of accommodation, tariff, size and location are available
Information is gathered at a regional, sub-regional and district level and includes average length of stay and percentage of business and overseas guests.
Serviced occupancy
This includes hotels, bed and breakfasts, guesthouses, inns and motels.
Average room and bed occupancy figures for the past six months are downloadable free from the website. You can also find out more about occupancy trends 1997 - 2007.

Taking part
Taking part in occupancy surveys is free, confidential and only requires a few minutes each month to fill in a simple form.
