Yorkshire is flying the flag at the 2009 Best of Britain & Ireland exhibition. Welcome to Yorkshire will share the wealth that the region has to offer with the rest of the nation at the launch of this new annual show.

The London based travel extravaganza is the UK's official exhibition dedicated exclusively to domestic tourism. So it is good to know that Yorkshire will be making its presence felt at the event that is being touted as the centrepiece of British Tourism Week.

Best of Britain & Ireland is working in partnership with VisitBritain and supported by Enjoy England, Tourism Ireland, VisitScotland and Visit Wales. The exhibition features a high-profile trade show, Best of Britain & Ireland Travel Trade Forum (formerly British Travel Trade Fair) on the first two days (26-27 March) which is aimed at travel industry professionals, group travel organisers, travel agents and corporate buyers of travel products and services.

This is followed by a brand new, innovative public event over the weekend, Best of Britain & Ireland 2009 (28-29 March).
The two distinct events will work together to enable Yorkshire to extend its welcoming hand to a broad and diverse audience.

Why is this so important? Well it gives Welcome to Yorkshire the opportunity to let as many people as possible have the privilege of seeing just what our region has to offer. In other words, we get to brag about how great Yorkshire is, from the stunning countryside, to the vibrant cities, the fantastic food offerings to the unique and distinguished heritage. It really aims to highlight the gems that are to be found in our northern treasure chest.
